Mid-Year Review of the Humanitarian Action Plan for Afghanistan 2010

Kabul
14 July 2010
Humanitarian Action Plan: 30 November 2009

Afghanistan’s continually deteriorating security situation places further strain on the already extremely vulnerable population and exacerbates humanitarian needs   In the first four months of 2010, the average number of security incidents was 52% higher than the same period in 2009.  This is due to a combination of factors including increased international military troops, security force operations in the South, and significant armed opposition groups’ activities in south-east and east Afghanistan.
