CERF allocates $5.9 million in Colombia

In 2011, an estimated 35 million people benefited from CERF underfunded emergency allocations in 20 countries and territories.

Over $144 million was disbursed to 185 UN projects in countries with unmet needs.

Nicaragua 2011

CERF allocates $2 million to respond to flood-affected populations in Nicaragua

4 November 2011: Heavy rainfall throughout Nicaragua associated with Tropical Depression E-12 caused severe flooding and landslides damaging property, vital infrastructure and agricultural crops.

Haiti 2012

CERF provides US$4 million for storm-affected people in Haiti
 

11 December 2012: Hurricane Sandy hit Haiti on 23 October and brought three consecutive days of heavy rain and severe flooding. The storm caused several deaths and damaged homes and public infrastructure. As a result, the Government of Haiti declared a state of emergency on 30 October.
