Cameroon 2014

Hostilities in Central African Republic (CAR) since December 2013 have resulted in massive population displacements into neighbouring countries, including Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Congo and Cameroon. Of those four countries, Cameroon hosts the largest number of refugees from CAR.

Cameroon was already host to some 90,000 CAR refugees before the new influx and by March 2014, UN agencies registered an additional 38,000 new refugees from CAR.

On 4 April 2014, the Emergency Relief Coordinator approved a US$4.1 million rapid response grant to help humanitarian partners in Cameroon provide immediate assistance for host communities and refugees from CAR.
