CERF provides $105,930 to ensure protection, emergency shelter and multi-sectoral assistance for refugees from Cote D’Ivoire in Benin
5 October 2011 : Some $105,930 has been made available from the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in response to the refugee crisis in Benin. As of August 2011, Benin has received more than 560 refugees, the majority of whom seek to flee violence in Cote d’Ivoire. The numbers of arrivals are expected to reach 1,000 by December 2011. Most of these refugees are women and children.
