Some 126 people have been reported dead in Afghanistan and 272 in Pakistan following a 7.5 magnitude earthquake that struck both countries on 26 October. Nearly 80,000 people are in need of assistance in Afghanistan and thus far, the Government and agencies have distributed food, shelter and non-food items to over 10,000 people.

In Pakistan, the Government is managing the response with help from aid agencies. Over the past week they have distributed tents, food and non-food items to vulnerable families, while needs assessments are ongoing across 10 affected districts.
