5 December 2011: The Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization held a Technical Discussion Meeting on Health and Human Security in Washington DC. The overall objective of the meeting was to discuss current global discussions on human security and to explore policy guidelines and methodological tools for applying the human security approach to health related policies and national plans. Among the presentations offered at the meeting, Ms. Mehrnaz Mostafavi of the Human Security Unit-OCHA provided the participants with a step-by-step strategy for developing, implementing and evaluating human security programmes and projects. 14 - 16 November 2011: As a follow-up to General Assembly resolution 64/291 and the Secretary General's report on human security A/64/701, the Special Advisor to the Secertary-General on Human Security, Mr. Yukio Takasu, held informal consultations with Member States in New York.
26 - 29 September 2011: The sixth Human Security Regional Training Workshop was organized in Belgrade, Serbia, by the Human Security Unit, OCHA (HSU-OCHA) in collaboration with the United Nations Office of the Resident Coordinator in Serbia.
