About Multimedia Products
OCHA develops and produces targeted communications products. Some are used to highlight or illustrate specific events or crises, while others help staff and partners promote humanitarian issues in general. They clarify OCHA’s position and messages, but deliver them in various creative and visual ways.
OCHA produces high-quality video products for television and cinema, and for online and mobile devices. The content ranges from films that raise awareness of or mobilize funds for humanitarian crises, to films that explain complex humanitarian issues and OCHA’s role. Content also includes public service announcements, documentaries, music promos, and online humanitarian awareness and fundraising campaigns. A major focus for OCHA is the annual World Humanitarian Day campaign, which commemorates aid workers who have been killed or injured in the course of duty. The campaign also celebrates people helping people around the world. In 2012, the World Humanitarian Day music video featured international music artist Beyoncé. It reached 1 billion people through an extensive social media campaign that encouraged participants to “do something good, somewhere, for someone else”. View latest OCHA Videos.
OCHA gathers photography documenting global humanitarian action to visually tell the story of disaster-affected people, show aid in action and motivate the international community. IRIN provides a public gallery of photographs relevant to humanitarian actors and international media. Print-quality photos covering the world’s most pressing humanitarian crises can be downloaded free of charge for non-commercial use. View latest OCHA Photos.
