Seychelles
Seychelles is an island country spanning an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, some 1,500 kilometres (932 mi) east of mainland Africa, northeast of the island of Madagascar. With an estimated population of 86,525, it has the smallest population of any African state.
It also has the highest Human Development Index in Africa, but also the highest income inequality in the world, as measured by the Gini index. OCHA ROSA has been supporting various activities in Seychelles, including carrying out an assessment mission on the status of preparedness in Seychelles in December 2011.
