Sudan: 2012 UN and Partners Work Plan for Sudan: US$ 1.06 billion needed for Humanitarian & Recovery assistance

[13 December 2011, KHARTOUM] The United Nations and its partners in Sudan requires $1.06 billion for humanitarian and early recovery projects in 2012 as outlined in the United Nations and Partners Humanitarian Work Plan for Sudan 2012. The Work Plan encompasses 331 projects across twelve sectors.

All parties to the conflict are exhibiting total disregard for civilians, who are being killed, injured, terrorized and displaced by repeated attacks, including aerial bombardments. Sudan: United Nations humanitarian chief condemns killing of aid worker in southern Sudan

(New York, 25 April 2011): United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Ms. Valerie Amos, expressed her deep concern today about recent attacks on humanitarian workers in southern Sudan.
