Khartoum, 8 October 2012. The United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan, Mr. Ali Al-Za’tari, condemned today’s indiscriminate mortar shelling in the South Kordofan state capital, Kadugli.

On behalf of the United Nations and its partners in Sudan, the Resident and Humanitarian Coordinators a.i. wish to express their profound sympathies to the Government and the people of Sudan following the tragic plane crash in Talodi on 19 August which claimed the lives of the Sudanese Minister of Guidance and Religious Endowments, Mr. Ghazi al-Sadiq Abdel Rahim, and all the other 31 passengers on board.

Khartoum, 6 August 2012. The United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan ad interim, Pamela DeLargy, has expressed her profound shock at the attack on a World Food Programme (WFP) vehicle in South Kordofan, in which one WFP staff member was killed and another seriously wounded.
