CAR: Thousands of refugees still streaming into Cameroon (GALLERY)
More than a hundred thousand refugees from the Central African Republic (CAR) have arrived in Cameroon since December 2013. Basic health services are strained and refugee sites are overwhelmed.
Many people arrive having walked one or two days through the forests of western CAR. They make the journey with little food. Between 20 and 30 per cent of those who cross are malnourished. Within CAR, more than half a million people are internally displaced, many trapped in enclaves and religious sites from which it is difficult to leave without coming under attack.
