Training & Partnerships
The Training and Partnership Unit (TPU) establishes partnerships with various organizations around the world, which allows OCHA to deliver and sustain its Training Programme catering to the training needs of its beneficiaries within the humanitarian and military communities.
The core training products are the UN-CMCoord Course, the Preparedness and Response Effectiveness Programme (PREP), the UN-CMCoord Skills Training and the UN-CMCoord Webinars.
The United Nations Humanitarian Civil-Military Coordination (UN-CMCoord) eCourse is an online learning experience that brings together practitioners and experts to discuss UN-CMCoord concepts and principles and their practical applications in responding to natural disasters and complex emergency settings.
Based on the UN-CMCoord Field Handbook, this course provides a well-rounded and interactive approach to learning and is accessible to all organizations and individuals interested in the topic of humanitarian civil-military coordination.
The overarching philosophy of the Courses is that participants should reflect the diversity of actors in the field within the humanitarian and military communities. Applications are encouraged from:
- Governmental and non-governmental organizations;
- Aid agencies and civil protection units;
- Military and civil defence organizations;
- United Nations agencies and other intergovernmental bodies; and,
- The Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
