Amy Martin

Amy Martin was appointed as Head of Office, Afghanistan in August 2025. She has more than 25 years of experience in development and humanitarian work. She began as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mali and has since served in Guinea, Côte d'Ivoire, Sudan, Ethiopia, Central African Republic, Myanmar, and Thailand with the World Food Programme and OCHA. In 2010, Martin supported relief efforts in response to the Haiti earthquake, the Horn of Africa drought and Cyclone Komen in Rakhine State. She has also served as Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator in Darfur. In June 2020, Martin served in Mali as Head of the OCHA office where she fostered localisation, accountability to people affected by crises, and the decentralization of coordination platforms to regional capitals in access and civil-military coordination. A US national, Martin holds a Bachelor’s of Art in History and International Relations from Clark University. She speaks English and French.
