Dieudonné Bamouni

Dieudonné Bamouni was appointed as OCHA's Head of Office in Chad in April 2021. Bamouni brings more than 20 years of humanitarian experience with a focus on population displacement within Africa to his role. He has served as OCHA's Head of Office in Niger and Chad, and also held leadership positions in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Besides OCHA, Bamouni has worked for the UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR. Prior to joining the UN in 2002, Bamouni was the Regional Representative for Africa for the International Catholic Commission for Migration. He has also served as the Head of the Press, Information, and Special Issues (Human Rights) Unit with the Government of Burkina Faso, and later as the Coordinator of the National Commission for Refugees. Bamouni holds a diploma in Modern Letters from the University of Ouagadougou, a degree in Journalism from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (with a specialization in political reporting) and a postgraduate qualification in Public Communication from the International Institute of Public Administration in Paris. A Burkina Faso national, Bamouni speaks English, French and Bambara.
