The Jordan Humanitarian Fund (JHF), which was established in 2014, is a viable humanitarian financing tool supported by a solid governance structure and accountability framework. The main objective of the JHF is to provide flexible and timely funding to address priority humanitarian needs of Syrian refugees and vulnerable host communities in Jordan.
The Fund operates within the frame of the Jordan Response Plan and aims to provide flexible and timely funding to partners to respond to urgent humanitarian needs, fill critical gaps, and strengthen partnership by building the capacity of national NGOs enabling them from accessing the Fund and expanding the humanitarian outreach to a wider spectrum of beneficiaries.
Priorities of the Jordan Humanitarian Fund
1. The Jordan Response Plan (JRP) - Underfunded Priorities: The JHF supports national priorities related to refugee assistance and will also maintain flexibility to respond to emerging needs arising from the COVID-19 crisis, and vulnerable populations whose nationalities do not qualify for inclusion in the JRP (such as non-Syrian refugees).
2. Enhancing & supporting local /National capacities (Localization): The JHF will continue to be a vital vehicle for advancing the localization agenda, including for donors who are unable to provide substantial bilateral funding to local partners yet.
3. Promoting flexible assistance modalities (including cash-based programming): The JHF ensures that the crisis-affected population can choose the most suitable and dignifying type of assistance.
4. Promoting Accountability to Affected People (AAP) and protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA)
