Kyoko Ono
Kyoko Ono was appointed Deputy Director of OCHA’s Crisis Response Division in December 2024 and leads the Eastern and Southern Africa Branch. She previously served as Deputy Head of Office for OCHA in Myanmar. Ono has more than 20 years of experience in humanitarian affairs, political affairs and peace operations. She has served both at UN Headquarters and in complex field environments, including in Sudan, South Sudan and Myanmar. Before joining the United Nations, Ono worked in Japan’s private financial sector, supporting long-term development initiatives. A Japanese national, Ono holds a Master of Arts in International Affairs from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts from Keio University, Japan. She speaks English, Japanese and French.
