Shotlist
1. Wide shot, convoy entering north Gaza
2. Wide shot, tracking shot, UN staffers entering Al Rimal school
3. SOUNDBITE (English) Gloria Lazic, OCHA Gaza:
“So we have finally managed to reach Gaza City after five attempts. We are here to assess the needs of the population newly displaced after the beginning of military operations in northern Gaza, especially in Jabalia camp. So we estimate that there are more than 60,000 people who have been displaced recently in the last two weeks.”
4. Various shots, conditions in Al Rimal school
5. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Displaced man in Al Rimal school:
“The situation is very bad. In every area we stay, we don't have bedding sets, covers or anything. We don't have treatment at all. We don't know...We're even deprived of food. There's no food. We have children who suffer from rickets. There's no treatment or medicine for it. We're oppressed. The area they force us out from and say it's safe is not [safe].”
6. Wide shot, exterior of Al Karmel collective centre
7. SOUNDBITE (English) Gloria Lazic, OCHA Gaza:
“People are asking us for food, they are asking us for access to water. But above all, we received many, many requests asking us to go save and evacuate people who have remained in Jabalia camps and also, go support the collection of bodies. This is a very sad situation, especially as access to this area is limited. We have been trying to bring goods to Jabalia camp for now, two weeks, and this has been regularly denied.”
8. Wide shot, exterior of Al Mawhobin school
9. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Displaced women in Al Karmel collective centre:
Woman: 1 "We've spent 9 days wearing the same clothes since we arrived...
Woman 2: Us too. For safety, they raised a flag up to indicate that we're peaceful people so that they don't bomb us. They're killing and bombing innocent children. This is unlawful. We're not safe. We sleep while we're afraid. When children sleep, they sleep like this out of fear. From sunset, they scream when they sleep and get up. They lack safety, food and water."
10. Wide shot, destruction near Al Karmel site
11. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Displaced woman in Al Mawhobin makeshift site:
“We don’t want food or water. We don’t even want food or water. We want them to stop the aggression against us and live in peace. What they are doing to us is forbidden.”
12. Wide shot, tents Al Mawhobin makeshift site
13. SOUNDBITE (English) Gloria Lazic, OCHA Gaza:
“Now, we have been trying to bring fuel for the water facilities and a bit of food, and we hope that this will work. But we need access. We need access to these people because they are in need of everything. It's our responsibility as humans, it’s our responsibility as humanitarians. We need to access them. They should be able to access services, and we also need access for all the supplies that we are trying to bring in.”
14. Wide shot, convoy entering north Gaza
Storyline
OCHA continues to sound the alarm about the increasingly dire and dangerous situation that civilians in North Gaza governorate are facing, amid a tightening siege, increased bombing and intensified fighting. People are out of water, food and basic necessities. Those who have fled to Gaza city do not have basics for survival and remain concerned about family members left behind.
