4 FEBRUARY 2025, NORTH GAZA

1.Wide shot, destruction in North Gaza
2. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) North Gaza Resident #1:
“I swear to God, we stayed in Khan Yunis for almost six months, but all that we received could barely equal food supplies for a week. I swear and God is witness to what I say. Still, as soon as we heard there was a truce, my children and I returned and cleaned the house. All of this was rubble. You see this place is clean as if there was nothing here. All of this here was all rubble and I moved here and there. I found this door inside the flat.”
3. Wide shot, pan right, destruction in North Gaza
4. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) North Gaza Resident #2:
“The first thing that prompted me to return is that I wished to get back to my place of residence. We all wished to return with our children and see our house This was the main reason I wanted to return to my home. It's not a problem. Despite the rubble and bombing, we'll live in our homes, reconstruct and work.”

11 FEBRUARY 2025, BEIT HANOUN

5. Various shots, UN delegation meeting families in Beit Hanoun
6. Wide shot, pan left, destruction in Beit Hanoun
7. SOUNDBITE (English) René Nijenhuis, OCHA Gaza :
“We just visited several families who have returned from the south after having been displaced for months here from Beit Hanoun. And there’s only three messages that come out of them, and that is: first of all, the ceasefire needs to hold. The second key ask is, the ceasefire needs to hold. And their last message is, please, the ceasefire needs to hold.”

11 FEBRUARY, JABALYA CAMP

8. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Moaz, Jabalya Returnee:
“The book collection was much bigger than this. When the house was bombed, we collected the books we could save and put them here. The rest were burned or we couldn't find them.”
9. Tracking shot, children climbing the stairs of their destroyed home
10. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Moaz, Jabalya Returnee:
“This is the house I live in. I lost 12 members of my family.”
11. Med shot, man chopping wood
12. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Moaz, Jabalya Returnee:
“When we lost them, we fled due to danger and fear to another area.”
13. Wide shot, Moaz showing destruction in his home.
14. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Moaz, Jabalya Returnee:
“I had to clean the rubble by hand as there is no equipment at all. I've worked with my own two hands. My brother and I cleaned the house from where we were displaced.”
15. Wide shot, pan left, view of destruction in Jabalya
16. Tracking shot, destruction in Jabalya
17. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Shafiqa, Jabalya Returnee:
“We are residents of this area. We've lived here for 24 years. Having to pick a place, it's natural that we live in our place of residence.”

12 FEBRUARY 2025, NETZARIM CORRIDOR

18. Various shots, destruction in the Netzarim corridor area
19. SOUNDBITE (Arabic) Dr. Sara Alsaqqa, OCHA Gaza:
“[Returnees] have their belongings and blankets, but had two options, each harder than the other. Either keep their children warm with these blankets, or use them to erect their tents to keep themselves covered. Both options are tough. People have returned, insisting to come back and stay on their land, although nothing was left for them. All their homes were demolished and possessions lost. Still, they're trying. We're here to assess their needs so that we could meet them. We're doing our best to help them.”
20. Wide shot, UN team assessing the needs of Netzarim returnees
