2. SOUNDBITE (Ukrainian) Olena Labzeva, representative of the Humanitarian Mission Proliska:
“My name is Olena Labzeva, and I am a representative of the Humanitarian Mission “Proliska.” We are currently working at the site in Bohodukhiv that was shelled today, 11 February 2026, around midnight. A strike by a combat drone completely destroyed this house. A family lived here: three children, a pregnant mother and a father with a disability. The father and the children were killed. A neighbour heard the explosion and ran here — the house was already on fire. He pulled the woman out from under the rubble. She was pregnant and injured, and her clothes had already started to burn. One child was still crying, but he was unable to reach the children in time. The children died. The woman was taken to hospital, where she received first aid. She is currently in an extremely serious condition. Possibly tomorrow our psychologists will work with her. At this moment, she is not able to speak about her tragedy. The family had recently moved into this house from a less safe area. They believed it would be calmer here, that they would have shelter and a home. But now there is no home, and people have lost their lives. Nearby houses were also damaged: roofs and windows were destroyed, a car burned down, and outbuildings were ruined. Various humanitarian organizations are providing assistance so people can cover broken windows, repair roofs and protect themselves from the cold and bad weather. Psychological support and consultations regarding damaged property are also being provided. Different organizations are working here — each helping in whatever way they can. We are supporting people.”

Storyline
On the night of 10–11 February 2026, Bohodukhiv town in the Kharkiv Region, Ukraine, experienced a devastating drone strike that completely destroyed a residential house.
According to Olena Labzeva, a representative of the Humanitarian Mission Proliska, a combat drone struck the home around midnight. The house was fully destroyed. A family lived there: three children (including toddlers aged one and two), a pregnant mother and a father with a disability. The father and the children were killed in the attack.
A neighbour who heard the explosion ran to the house, which was already on fire. He managed to pull the injured pregnant woman from under the rubble. Her clothes had begun to burn. One child was still crying at the time, but the neighbour was unable to reach the children before the structure collapsed further. The children did not survive.
The woman was transported to hospital, where she received emergency medical care. She remains in extremely serious physical and psychological condition. Humanitarian teams anticipate providing psychological support once her condition allows.
The family had recently relocated to this house from another area they considered less safe, believing they would find greater security and stability here. Instead, the strike left them without a home and resulted in multiple fatalities.
The attack also damaged neighbouring houses. Roofs and windows were destroyed, a vehicle burned down, and outbuildings were ruined. Humanitarian teams are working on site to assist affected residents, boarding up shattered windows and conducting emergency repairs to prevent further damage to homes and critical indoor systems amid sub-zero winter temperatures. Psychological assistance and consultations related to property damage are also being provided.
Bohodukhiv, the administrative centre of Bohodukhivskyi district, lies approximately 20 kilometres from the Russian Federation border and about 60 kilometres from the frontline. In recent days, the town has seen a disturbing escalation in attacks — a tragic trend for a community that had not previously experienced such intense and regular bombardments.
On Sunday, 8 February, another strike killed a woman and a 10-year-old boy and injured three others. This week has been particularly devastating for Bohodukhiv. Following the latest attack, local authorities announced three days of mourning. Aid workers continue to provide support to affected residents as the community grapples with repeated loss and destruction.
