Storyline
The capital, Kyiv, was among the hardest hit, with attacks reported in 13 locations across the city. At least nine people were killed, and over 70 injured, and two children remain missing – this is according to the city authorities and aid workers. Some 20 residential buildings were damaged and several destroyed.
Humanitarian partners quickly provided emergency shelter materials, psychosocial support, and hot meals to those affected.
The Humanitarian Coordinator, Matthias Schmale, strongly condemned large-scale attack by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on residential areas in Kyiv as yet another appalling violation of international humanitarian law.
Humanitarian organizations rapidly mobilized to provide emergency aid, shelter, legal and psychosocial support.
