A Report of Community Voices Workshop: A systematic approach to people-centred response in Afghanistan In preparation for 2025 HNRP
The Community Voices Workshop aimed to support Cluster Coordinators, Regional ICCGs and Working Group Chairs to strengthen a community-centered approach in 2025 HNRP. The workshop was guided by the key findings of community feedback from the Afghanistan Community Voices and Accountability Platform – a collective system to systematically track and respond to community feedback and concerns at system-wide level, supported by aid partners from their face to face community engagement modalities to hotlines including Awaaz helpline. Some feedback references from the Whole of Afghanistan Assessments were also reflected in the discussion.
Three main issues were selected for discussion based on the frequently raised issues by the communities that require more unpacking. Key findings of each issue were presented to allow participants discuss the challenges and identify good practices and ideas to address the challenges.
Through the group work, participants identified key challenges and opportunities for improvement in preparation of the 2025 HNRP. The three thematic areas were:
1. Improving engagement with affected people (aid transparency and selection criteria)
2. Reaching the most vulnerable (women and girls, persons with disabilities)
3. Community requests for humanitarian assistance and basic human needs
