CAR Humanitarian Fund, March 2025
Humanitarian needs require more local response
In 2025, 2.4 million people — 38 per cent of the population — are expected to face extreme vulnerability to the point where humanitarian assistance alone would not be sufficient to ensure their well-being.
Overall, recent shocks affecting the population, especially clashes between armed groups, have decreased over the past two years. However, the situation remains worrying in some regions where conflict persist, and where the population is exposed to climate change. One in five Central African remains displaced either within the country or abroad, mainly in neighbouring countries. Attacks on civilians and associated infrastructure continue to lead to new displacements negatively impacting the well-being of the population.
In 2024, the CAR HF allocated 30% of its funds to national organizations compared to 7% in 2022.
