CONTEXT

The civilian population continues to suffer from tensions and armed violence in the Central African Republic.

In August 2023, humanitarian personnel and resources were affected by 16 incidents, down slightly from 17 the previous month. The majority (7) of incidents occurred in the Ouham-Fafa sub-prefecture.

This month’s incidents include eight cases of theft from humanitarian teams in field trip missions, harassment, looting aid, abduction of an NGO staff member and theft of motorcycles.

The sub-prefectures most affected during the month of August are Batangafo, Ndele and Obo.
