The Humanitarian Coordination Structure presented below is based on the Disaster Risk Management Act 2007, which is currently the governing Act for Humanitarian work in the Cook Islands. The Disaster Risk Management Act 2007 defines the framework of the Emergency Management of the Cook Islands and provides the legal background for enactment of said Act. The National Sectoral System for emergency coordination is detailed below and includes the main actors per cluster; other relevant government agencies and private sector will be involved when required, depending on the emergency situation.
