Nigeria: Floods - Yola, Adamawa State, Flash Update 1 (29 July 2025)
HIGHLIGHTS
- Flash flooding has affected five wards in Yola South Local Government Area (LGA) in Adamawa State following heavy rainfall.
- Nine people have died, dozens have been injured, according to the Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency (AdSEMA). Some 13 people are reportedly missing in Bole Yolde Pate ward, in Yola South, alone.
- Over 550 households have been affected, comprising over 3,000 displaced people who have been profiled by the AdSEMA. Most of the displaced are across Sabon Pegi, Shagari Phase 2, Lakare, and other settlements.
- Emergency response is underway with support from ADSEMA, the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS), local authorities, and UN agencies.
