Relief and Resilience - KSrelief’s Shelter and Winter Response for Vulnerable Communities
Pakistan stands at the frontline of climate change, grappling with increasing environmental threats—glacial lake outburst floods, heatwaves, prolonged droughts, and unpredictable monsoons. These climate-induced disasters have displaced millions, devastated infrastructure, and disrupted the country’s vital agricultural sector. Rising temperatures continue to accelerate glacier melt in the north, heightening the risk of flash floods. Combined with rapid urbanization, deforestation, and limited emergency preparedness, Pakistan is among the world’s most climate-vulnerable nations. In response to these escalating challenges, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched a major humanitarian initiative for 2025–26: the Shelter NFIs & Winter Kits Project, aimed at supporting vulnerable communities with critical relief to withstand extreme weather and sudden disasters
