The Solomon Islands Anticopulatory Action (AA) Sensitization workshop “Anticipatory Action in the Solomon Islands - Localizing Early Warning, Early Action “was held at the Heritage Hotel in Honiara over two days, 5 – 6 March 2024. The workshop attracted 61 participants, break down by sex ( 30 female, 31 male) . There were representatives from across the Solomon Islands Government, non-government partners and development partners. The workshop was designed to raise awareness and familiarize national / local stakeholders with the concept of AA and to discuss if/ how it could be taken forward in the Solomon Islands context and integrated into the preexisting Early Warning System ( EWS) and Disaster Risk Management ( DRM) mechanisms in the country. The workshop also tested the minimum training package on AA that is currently being contextualized for the Pacific. All the sessions were codelivered with the national counterparts.

The Government of Solomon Islands, under the leadership of the Solomon Islands Meteorological Service ( SIMS) and the Solomon Islands National Disaster Management Office ( NDMO in partnership with the United Nations co-hosted a national workshop.
