This report is produced by OCHA Somalia in collaboration with humanitarian partners. It provides information on the humanitarian situation across Somalia in June 2025.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Funding reductions have significantly constrained humanitarian programmes. Key Clusters – Food Security, and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene – have received less than half of the funding they received at this time last year. Without additional funding, millions of people in Somalia will face increased vulnerability.
  • Somalia experienced significant disparities in rainfall during the recent Gu (April to June) season. The southern regions received better-than-projected rainfall, while northern regions received very little, leaving some areas completely dry.
  • More than 8,000 people have been displaced from several villages in Afgooye district due to ongoing clashes between the military and non-state armed groups. Reports indicate that the displaced people urgently need humanitarian assistance.
  • Training on the localisation of environment in humanitarian action was conducted for 27 professionals and government representatives to strengthen their understanding of environmental sustainability within the humanitarian context.
