AAP Messaging on Deduplication Process for Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance [EN/UK]
Humanitarian organisations’ commitment to involve and be answerable to the people they aim to assist is the cornerstone of the Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) principles. AAP aims to enhance the effectiveness and quality of humanitarian action by fostering a more responsive and responsible approach to aid delivery. The Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) Operation Framework on AAP in Humanitarian Action reflects the collective commitment of humanitarian actors to use power responsibly by taking account of, giving account to, and being held to account by the people humanitarian organisations seek to assist.1 While implementing MPCA programmes, organisations must provide clear, accessible information about the process of registration, eligibility criteria, deduplication of assistance to ensure that beneficiaries understand how decisions are made, what the process involves, and what they can expect from aid interventions. Communication about the deduplication process should be particularly transparent, consistent, and easy to understand. All organisations involved in deduplication should utilise their existing participation and feedback mechanisms, enabling affected populations to seek information, share feedback, raise concerns, and submit complaints.
