FUNDING OVERVIEW

As of 31 October, donors have contributed USD 104 million to Venezuela's 2024 Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP), covering only 17% of the required funding. Currently, Venezuela is the least funded among all global humanitarian responses. At this point in the year, the country has received its lowest funding level since launching its first HRP in 2019. Funding is often reported in the second half of the year, which leads to increases around October/November. Currently Venezuela’s 2024 response relies on the 2023 cash flow, highlighting the need for urgent funding to continue implementing the response. Almost three-quarters of the financial contributions reported come from two donors. A more diversified donor base would contribute to a more robust response and strengthen the capacity of local organizations. A lack of funding risks leaving people in need without critical assistance in areas such as food security, water, sanitation and hygiene, health, and nutrition.
