Time and Venue

The 2025 Global Humanitarian Overview launch will take place on 4 December 2024 in Kuwait City, State of Kuwait.

The event will be held from 09:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Participants are advised to arrive at the venue by 08:45 a.m.

Tea, coffee and snacks will be served in the adjacent hall before and after the event.

The venue of the launch is Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah Grand Hall, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ground Floor, main entrance .

Below please find additional logistics details to facilitate your travel and stay in Kuwait City.

Registration and Access

All meeting participants are required to register here by Friday 29 November, to ensure access into the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This registration list will be used at the main gate to facilitate entry.

On 4 December 2024, participants will access the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the event, so that you have enough time for security clearance at the entrance. Please ensure you carry an identification document (UNLP, national passport or ID) with you.

Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah Grand Hall is located close to the second gate, plan for a 2-3 minute walk.

Parking is limited, please consider drop-off and pick-up arrangements to avoid any inconvenience.

MOFA will provide a shuttle service for oversea participants to enter the venue.

Visa Requirements

All visitors to the State of Kuwait must obtain a visa unless they come from one of the visa-exempt countries or countries eligible for visa on arrival/e-visa. All visitors (except Gulf Cooperation Council citizens) must hold a passport valid for 6 months. UNOCHA will not be responsible for individual visa application, therefore, all participants should arrange for their visa application prior to travel.

General information on Kuwait

Currency: The unit of currency in the State of Kuwait is the Kuwaiti Dinar (KD). Information on exchange rates is available on the website of the Central Bank of Kuwait (https://www.cbk.gov.kw/en). Currency exchange points are available in banks, hotels and at the airport. ATMs are available in most banks, hotels and shopping malls. Hotels accept credit cards

Weather: The weather in Kuwait City in December is mildly cool and breezy, with average highs of 68°F (20°C) and lows of 52°F (11°C).

Electricity: Frequency current used in Kuwait City is 220 volt - 50 hertz. A tri-socket is used.

Important Information: While staying in the State Kuwait, participants are expected to respect the laws and regulations of the country. The organizers will not be responsible for legal support of any misconduct or illegal acts of meeting participants during their stay.
