LACK OF FUNDING HAS DIRE CONSEQUENCES FOR INTERNALLY DISPLACED PEOPLE

Yemen is home to an estimated 4.5 million internally displaced persons (IDPs). Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) coordinates the assistance and protection activities for IDPS living in sites across Yemen. CCCM partners work to improve the living conditions of IDPs, provide assistance and protection services in displacement sites, and seek long-term and sustainable solutions for IDPs.

CCCM is one of the least funded response sectors in Yemen, with just 7.8% received (as of 11 November 2024) of the US $47.2 million required, exacerbating the conditions of the most vulnerable households in Yemen.

Due to funding shortfalls in previous years, CCCM partners in Yemen have largely shifted to a mobile approach to reduce costs. The frequency of monitoring in most sites has been reduced, and partners primarily focus on site maintenance and community-led projects

Despite funding shortfalls, CCCM is working to support 790,000 of the most vulnerable IDPs living in displacement sites.
