Sarah Muscroft

Sarah Muscroft was appointed Chief of the Response Support Branch in OCHA’s Crisis Response Division in 2025. Muscroft brings more than 30 years of humanitarian and development experience in managing operations in several crises and policy development. She was appointed OCHA’s Head of Office in Occupied Palestinian Territory in 2019, prior to which she served as OCHA’s Deputy or Head of Office in four other country operations: Jordan, Haiti, Ethiopia and Sierra Leone. While based in Headquarters with the Policy Branch and the Coordination Division, Muscroft worked on range of policy issues from the protection of civilians to transition and disaster risk management and resilience. Prior to joining OCHA, she spent a decade working with non-governmental organizations including Concern, Save the Children, and the British Red Cross. Muscroft began her professional career in the north of Ghana working on a Government-led education programme. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Geography from the University of Oxford and master’s degrees in Education and Philosophy in Anthropology and Development from the University of Cambridge.  Muscroft, a British national, is fluent in English and conversant in French.
